The 5 Watt Solar Panel with 10 Year Warranty (GC122) is a solar power alternative designed for compatible gate opener systems. This complete solar kit includes a mounting stand and wire, providing an alternative to a traditional 110V electrical connection. The solar panel uses sunlight to trickle charge the gate opener's battery, making it ideal for remote locations, long driveways, and properties without convenient access to electrical power. By utilizing renewable solar energy, the GC122 provides an environmentally friendly charging solution while reducing dependence on traditional electrical connections.
The GC122 features a weatherproof, non-glass solar panel with a clear front covering and an anodized aluminum frame for durability in outdoor environments. Its photovoltaic solar cells convert sunlight into electrical energy and are designed to absorb energy even in low-light conditions. The panel is suitable for solar-compatible gate opener systems, although the required solar wattage depends on the opener's power consumption and frequency of operation. Backed by a 10-year warranty, the GC122 provides a durable solar charging option for compatible automatic gate systems.
Solar Panel Orientation
For optimal solar exposure, position the panel toward true south and use the following formula to determine the recommended tilt angle:
(Your Latitude × 0.9) + 29° = Recommended Panel Tilt Angle
The angle is measured upward from the horizontal position.
Note: Gate opener systems with more frequent opening and closing cycles may require additional solar wattage. Review your gate opener manual to determine the appropriate solar panel capacity for your system. The make and model of the solar panel may vary from the product image.
